Something new!

Trying something new...starting a blog about our lives as foster parents...sharing what we're learning along the way.

Our grandchildren call me Honey. They have since they started to talk. I love that name. At first, our first few foster children just called me by my name. It wasn't until we got our little blond-headed, 5-year-old silly guy that our fosters started to call me Honey, too.

Our little guy also gave my husband the name, Mister. It was so cute the first time he said it, we all chuckled. It stuck, though, and that's how we came to be Honey and Mr.

We have two biological children who are in their 20s. We have an adopted 13-year-old daughter. Currently, we have two foster children ages 8 and 5.

We have had several kiddos come through our home over the past three years. Some have stayed several months and others only a few days, but they all have made an impact.

So, we are starting this blog to share our adventures - what we're learning, what works, where we've had epic failures, the challenges of the system, and mostly the funny, sweet, lovely moments we experience each day.
